We are the channel of communication between individual voluntary and community organisations and local, regional and national statutory bodies and public sector agencies.

We aid the development of independent projects and voluntary and community groups.

We provide a number of services outlined on our website in the development of community action and provide a strong voice for the sector on policy issues.

On the 1st April 2008 Nuneaton and Bedworth CVS merged with 3 other independent organisations from across the county to form Warwickshire Community and Voluntary Action (WCAVA). Nuneaton and Bedworth CVS joined Rugby CVS, Rugby Volunteer Centre and Warwick District CVS and Volunteer Centre to form the new countywide organisation, with North Warwickshire CVS expected to join in the near future.

Paul Tolley, former Chief Officer of Rugby CVS, was appointed Chief Executive of WCAVA, said of the merger “We have not seen an increase in the generic levels of core funding available but the demands upon our support services have increased hugely as the need to involve the sector in shaping our communities and exploring the delivery of public services.

The challenge for the sector is one of how to make more impact by uniting together, delivering our shared objectives in partnership and drawing down both national and regional funding that encourages and rewards innovation.”

The Nuneaton and Bedworth office continues to be operated in High Street, Nuneaton, however Liz Stuart, former Chief Executive left after 18 years due to the reshape. The services on offer locally remain unchanged.

Warwickshire CAVA is a Registered Charity No: 1123402 and a Company Limited by Guarantee No: 06531268 (England and Wales). Registered office: Town Hall, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, CV32 4AL
